Lately

Lately I've been drooling over the cuuuuute projects in this magazine! Oh. My. Gosh. Not enough time to do them all!

Been stitching a Halloween cross-stitch...LOVE.
Been plugging away at the FWQAL. 36 blocks made and still going strong-ish. ;)
Been loving this cutie. Lola loves her pumpkin. She's ready for Halloween!
What have you been up to lately?

Pips

Last week I finally finished my Sherbet Pips quilt. I used 1 charm pack of Sherbet Pips and mixed in other squares made from coordinating designer prints. I must say that I quite like how it turned out!

It measures 40 inches by 40 inches. A good size for a crib quilt, toddler bed quilt, or a throw.
I decided to not keep this one...though it sure is tempting! It's now listed in my shop!
What projects have you finished recently?

Dreaming

I dream of going to Paris.....maybe one day. As a lover of old photographs, I was happy to find these old photos, including the vintage Paris photo card above, when I visited Buffalo last May.
I love this gal's suit and shoes. The back of the photo says Easter Sunday, April 21, 1946, Humboldt Park. Sweet.
I love these two. Looks like a gal and her beau. I love her purse! I wonder where they were off to.
I'm especially fond of this photo. The back of it says "Eugene Matuszewski and girlfriend Mille. Jan. 1946 Buffalo, NY". I wonder what happened to them. If they got married. If they stayed in Buffalo.

I love looking at old photos and dreaming about the people in them. I can't help but hope they all had a blessed life and in the case of the couples, grew old together.

I hope everyone is having a great week.

Fabric and Sauce

Good day peeps! Well, really it's night time here now but I sure do wish it was still day! There never are quite enough hours in the day.

This weekend I managed to finish cutting up my Denyse Schmidt stash into the pieces I need to start sewing a new quilt top together. I'm excited about getting this one started...and then finished! lol
Feeling inspired by Mary, I just *had* to sew a Tallahassee block together.
This one is going to be a pillow cover. Seriously love this block! I cut pieces to make another one. However, after piecing this one, I kinda lost steam. All the piecing involved wore me out. Once I'm feeling it again, I'm for sure going to make another one though!
This week's fwqal blocks. Evening Star block 31 on the left and Farmer's Daughter block 32 on the right. Whew! I am surprised I have been able to keep up with the block making for this QAL!
On Saturday I was feeling in the mood for some cooking. I continued on in Giada De Laurentiis' cookbook Everyday Italian, and made her marinara. It made about 8 cups so I was able to freeze a bunch to have on hand. It's delicious!
I hope everyone has a great week!

Spooky

Happy Friday peeps! Gosh, I have so many projects sitting. Just sitting. It's a miracle I finished one! :) I sat yesterday on the couch and got into the rhythm of some hand stitching. I finished several small things that were nearly done except for hand sewing the binding down. This Halloween spooky table topper was one of those things.
I am excited about it! I can hardly wait to use it in the weeks leading up to Halloween.
I also sewed 3 fwqal blocks this week. I think this one is my favorite. This is block 30 called End of Day.
I was feeling in the fall mood and pulled out some pumpkin-y fabrics to make block 29 called Economy.
And I couldn't resist using some AH Farmdale for block 28 Duck and Ducklings. Apple season is just right around the corner! ;)

Hope everyone had a nice week. Any labor day plans?
