New Embroidery Bag

I'm leaving tomorrow for a vacation to visit family. Since I can't bring my Bernina (for obvious reasons. LOL) I stitched up this zippered bag for carting my cross stitch around. I quite like how it turned out! Yay for stitching on the road! ;)

What's your favorite craft to bring on the road?

I'll see you in this space soon. Hopefully from the road!

Inspired By The Sea

I've been feeling inspired by the sea lately, so before my cruise trip I whipped up these seahorse wall hangings. I do love how they turned out! I machine appliqued the seahorse to the linen, and then stretched it across the embroidery hoop. As a finishing touch I hand embroidered a letter "S" beside the applique. They're in the shop now!
I really loved playing with this Denyse Schmidt for JoAnn fabric in this one. :)
Please excuse my post cruise haze. It still feels sort of like a dream. It helped that I was not only cruising with dear friends from far away, but also that it was a cruise with my favorite boy band of all time! LOL
This is a photo of me with my friend LD who lives in Arizona.
The ship was the Carnival Destiny and it was huge!
This was me in the morning on board before taking the tender over to Half Moon Cay.

I'll close with a video of Joe and Jon goofing around during the Sail Away Party on the Lido Deck. I promise I am slowly getting back into sewing. Promise. ;)

Break Time

Tomorrow I am off on my 4 day cruise vacation. I can hardly believe the time is here, as this is a trip that I booked last August. I'm looking forward to seeing friends...old and new, and breaking the daily routine around here. When I come back I'm excited to start working on some new projects for the shop, and making some new quilts!

I'll leave you with this old photo of a family on a beach vacation. It's dated 1937 and on the back it says Hollywood, Florida. I love the look on the boys face on the end!

See you on the flip side and have a great weekend!

Green Bag

Now that the bag has been received by its lovely recipient I can post about it here. My dear friend Stacy is celebrating her birthday today, and I crocheted this bag for her as a gift. It was such a delight to crochet, and I really like the result! I used a pattern by Jen at The Fabled Needle. Great pattern and easy to follow! I used Lion Brand Woolease in Avocado to make this bag.

I lined it using a print from Denyse Schmidt's fabric line created for JoAnn fabrics. I couldn't resist the vintage-y feel of the fabric!
Now I'm thinking about making a bag for me!

I've created some appliqued wall decor in a few designs for the shop. I do love how they turned out! Hopefully I'll get them listed tonight.

And the best score of the week was this fabulous basket I found while thrifting! It is perfect for displaying my new creations but also such a nice basket. :)
Have a great weekend peeps! What are you excited about lately?

New Tote

Last night I stitched up this new tote for my upcoming cruise vacation. I love the print of the fabric. It's called Resort and it's Michael Miller. I also love the way it came out! I didn't take any inside photos but I lined it in a dot print by Laura Gunn and made a small pocket on the inside too. I think it will be perfect for our day excursions!

Last Friday I was itching for some pizza and thought I was pretty sure we had the necessary ingredients on hand so I whipped up some crust! I used a recipe from Emeril Lagasse that I found on the food network website. For toppings I used what we had which consisted of canned plum tomatoes, garlic and zucchini. I've also found that using a pizza stone has made all the difference when it comes to making homemade pizza. It was so delicious! I will definitely make it again!

Ah, to be a kitty. Tex loves his box so much that he's even smiling in this photo.

What are you up to this week, peeps?
