On the Hoop

I started this hoopy project yesterday. I just love slow stitching. Sometimes it's nice to just put away the sewing machine and pick up a needle.

I hope everyone has a super Easter! Happy Easter peeps!

Be Still My Heart!

Is it really true? Denise Schmidt designed fabric for Joann's?? Yes! And it's beautiful, and the quality is good! I only found about it by pure luck when bopping around blog land on Friday night. Saturday morning I had to make a dash to Joann's to scoop it up while it lasts!

The woman at the cutting table asked me "What are you going to make with all your half yards?" All I could think was,"What's not to make?!" I replied, "Oh, a quilt maybe..."
I think for now I'll just admire it, and hold on to it till inspiration strikes. ;)

On the craft table, I've got bunnies, and kitties and starfish, oh my! Working on some new things for my shop, and some things I was asked to donate for a raffle at a local event sponsored by the Humane Society. More to come!
Tex just loves sleeping in this box! He was looking awfully cozy on Saturday when I snapped this picture.

How's you weekend going, peeps?

Finished Objects

I bought a new point and shoot Nikon recently and it needed a cozy cover so last night while catching the first installment of the new Upstairs Downstairs on PBS, I crocheted one! It's quite snug but I think it turned out great. I made one another one a couple years ago but I chained 2 stitches too many, and with the give of the yarn, my other Nikon easily slides in and out. Not so good for protecting the camera! This pink one is good. The program was good too! Something to tide me over while waiting for Downton Abbey to come back.

I wanted to make a small quilt to hang in my bedroom, and surprisingly finished this one in about a week. This is a record for me! ;) I used a tutorial that Aneela posted on her blog to make some loops out of embroidery floss to attach to the back to facilitate hanging. Nifty!
I used half of my one and only Hunky Dory charm pack to make this small quilt, and a table topper that I plan on listing in my shop. More to come on the table topper!
Here it is hanging on my bedroom wall with a couple mini quilts I made last year. Success!
Thanks peeps for stopping by! What are you excited about this week?

It's all happening outside apparently

When I got home today from taking an exam at school, I found all the pets gazing intently at something outside. Animals are so funny sometimes. Though I must say that it is a beautiful day outside and I wish I had more time to be out in it!

Last week a friend invited me over for dinner so I decided to bake some cookies to bring along. These are from this Martha Stewart cookie cookbook. I used the soft and chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe. Delish! Just the right balance between the sea salt and the chocolate.
I finished my table runner! Funny thing is that once I had all 3 blocks pieced and sewn together I realized that I sewed them together the wrong way. :( The white triangles on the edge were supposed to be sewn to the white strips down the middle. In other words, I sewed the blocks together in the wrong direction. Oh well. I like the way it turned out anyway! If you want to make one yourself visit the comfortstitching blog. Aneela created the Strawberry Split table runner and posted it on her blog. Neato!

Over the weekend, Harry was a good boy and posed for the camera. :)
This is the scene from my craft table, peeps. Mug rugs in progress! I also want to put together some other stuff for the shop. Never enough time I say!

What are you working on?
