I'm Still Here

Whew! I didn't mean to take that long of a blog break but school this semester is taking up all my time. Darn school getting in the way of sewing ;). Actually I'm interning in a dental office 2 days a week, and at school 1 day a week. And when I say days, I mean 12 hour days from the time I get up until I get home. Add in all the school work, and I think I'm getting too old for this! LOL Thankfully, I finish in June so there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am also enjoying my first rotation in a pediatric dental office. It is actually quite fun!

But I digress. Last week I meant to post but sadly, didn't get around to it. So, here we are!
I finished Swoon block 4! Weeeee! Only 5 more to go. I WILL see this quilt finished in 2012. ;)
Head on over to the Swoon flickr group and check out all the lovelies people are sewing up!

I quite like the color combo in this one!
In farmering news, I sewed up 3 blocks last week. And...I sewed up block number 60 yesterday. I am more than halfway finished. I have learned so much along the way and it feels good to be committed to a long term project. It's not too late to join in! Grab a copy of the book and start sewing!

This is block 57, Morning.
Block 58, Mother's Dream.
And here we have block 59, Night & Day. What a beast to put together but also a neat optical illusion when finished!
So, what's good peeps?? Tell me what you've been up to!

I'll be back soon with new fabric goodness, and a new FO. :)

As always, these quilt blocks are beautiful, Laura! So happy for you to be interning at a pediatric dental facility. Sounds like fun. I always thought that if I didn't teach it might be fun to work as an orthodontist's assistant. When I wore braces years ago, I felt like a pro because I started recognizing the steps the nurse was supposed to follow as she laced new wires or added colored bands and chains... haha. So many memories came back to me just now! Have a lovely week, Laura!
